September 2011
Role allocation will be conducted first for Special Programs and then for Senate and House.
- Create an account on our website before September 30th
- Investigate travel arrangements and begin fundraising
October 2011
- Register online indicating total number of roles desired between September 30th to October 7th
- Receive number of assigned roles by email during the week of October 10th
- Have students prepare their Special Programs applications before October 17th
- Have students apply for Special Programs between October 17th and October 21st at 11:59pm EST
- HMC Scholarship applications due via email by October 21st
- Receive results of your Special Programs application by Monday, October 24th
- Register online for House and Senate between October 24th and October 28th
- Scholarship applicants notified of the results by October 28th
November 2011
- Mail deposit to HMC by October 31st
- Receive student roles by program by November 9th
- Notify HMC of any dropped roles by November 16thto receive a refund
- Submit student role assignments (use Worksheet A3) online by November 21st
- Receive Briefing Book and Faculty Guide on the website before the end of November
December 2011
- Mail remaining fees to HMC by December 5th*
- Make copies of Student Codes of Conduct and distribute to students to have signed
- Finalize travel arrangements
- Guide students in drafting student pre-conference assignments
- Conduct seminar on parliamentary procedure
- Invite local lawmakers to address students and have students contact member of Congress they are portraying
January / February 2012
- Complete Form B1 before January 9th
- Mail Form B1 to the Sheraton by January 9th
- Collect signed Student Codes of Conduct forms before January 20th
- Mail Code of Conduct forms and Principal’s Agreement to HMC by January 20th
- Submit pre-conference assignments by January 20th
- Changes to role assignments made within two weeks of the conference are subject to fees**
- Complete Form B2 before February 6th
- Mail Form B2 to the Sheraton by February 6th
*Late payments are subject to late fees. Schools will be charged $100 in late fees if payment is received within 30 days of the original deadlines. For every additional 30 days late, students will be charged an additional 2% of the deposit + initial late fee of $100.
**Role assignment changes made within two weeks of the conference are subject to fees. For every role assignment changed within two weeks, schools will be charged $5. For any role assignment changed at the conference, schools will be charged $10.
