Science and Technology

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to the House Science and Technology committee!  Please allow us to introduce ourselves.  In alphabetical order (by first name):

My name is Eric Wei, and I’ll be one of your co-chairs!  I have had fantastic times attending Model Congresses as a delegate and serving as a Junior Staffer last year.  I’m determined to ensure you a great Model Congress experience as well!  Needless to say, I’m excited to be chairing what clearly promises to be one of the most interesting committees this year.  Science and Technology covers a very wide range of topics, and we’ll be examining environmental and energy issues during this session.

As for me, I am a sophomore planning to concentrate in Economics with a secondary in sciences.  I am originally from Moorestown, New Jersey.  My extracurriculars and interests include parliamentary debate, the consulting and finance clubs, reading magazines, playing Super Smash Brothers, and sleeping.  I also am allergic to tree nuts, and I am a dual citizen of the US and Canada.  I look forward to meeting you all!

My name is Joe Feghali, and I’ll be Eric’s co-chair this year!  I had my first taste of Model Congress last year when I served as a Junior Staffer on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.  I hope that you’re very excited for this coming year and that you’re carefully perusing through those briefings.  This will facilitate passing committee bills like there’s no tomorrow!

I am currently a sophomore planning to concentrate in Economics.  I am considering a secondary in Global Health.  I am originally from Beirut, Lebanon (ask me about my war stories), but I have been enjoying the comfort of American life for the past 8 years.  I am a member of the Half-Asian People’s Association, as an ally, and I am an editor for The Harvard Crimson Business Board.  I enjoy tennis, biographical works, and exotic cuisine.  Best of luck on your preparation and see you in the fall!

Sincerely,

Eric Wei
