Welcome to the House Education and Labor committee! I hope that you’re all getting excited for an amazing conference! I am excited to get to know all of you during our time together, and I would like to take a moment to briefly introduce myself.
My name is Katie, and I am a junior at Harvard. I served as an HMC junior staffer my freshmen year and as a senior staffer my sophomore year, and I am so excited to be returning to HMC this year! I am from San Diego, CA (best city there is!) and while I miss my vitamin D during the long winters, I’ve loved my Harvard experience thus far. Besides Harvard Model Congress, I am on the Harvard Varsity Women’s Golf team. When I’m not hitting the books, I enjoy watching movies (Fargo is the best) and listening to classic rock, reggae, and indie rock.
I’m really looking forward to meeting all of you! In our committee this February, we will talk about school vouchers and employment discrimination. Please be sure to read through your briefings carefully and review your role assignment. In order to ensure that we have the best conference possible, we need you to be prepared!
